A client was using a shared dialler for their marketing. Our analysis of the data revealed discrepancies in the error rates between different marketing regions. More detailed analysis identified that the dialler was reporting all 10-digit phone numbers as invalid, so a significant number of people could never be contacted. A small change to the dialler software fixed the problem, which had existed for some time without being detected by anyone else.
